Born Eartha Franchessca Lee Quick. Hood Badu is a native of South Carolina. She is the youngest of her three siblings, and with both parents in the house, her father was in the military. while her mother worked in healthcare and cosmetology. Sadly, she lost her father in 2015 due to military related health issues. As expected, the loss had a strong affect on her, but she soon found an outlet that gave her healing. Badu discovered hip hop at an early age and immediately fell in love. She wrote her first rap in the 6th grade and began building her craft, and with the influence of her cousins and their love for freestyling. it provided motivation for the young talent. Growing up being surrounded by multiple genres and styles of music. Hood Badu was well equipped to form her rap career.
Hood Badu started early in her adolescent years, but her aspiring rap career was in full swing. She began sharing her music with fellow students in school, spreading her name and talent around. Inspired by her late father’s words to always make your dreams come true”. Badu continued to perfect her craft and build her lyrical reputation. In August of 2021, Hood Badu released her first project, an EP titled The Hood Badu Vol 1″. The 6-track body of work featured standout single, “Bag Up” featuring Kellz Da Don. After publicly releasing her music. Hood Badu was on her way to solidifying her place in the music industry.
In January of 2022. Badu proved to be lyrically worthy of being a standout artist, and she joined a rap battle league called the Pyrexx Battle League.

Her first battle was in March 2022 with JO, and her second battle was versus Ladii Tunez on the infamous URL battle league card called Future Queenz.
